J’NA
JEFFERSON
A CREATIVE PRACTICE BUILT ON CULTURE, CURIOSITY, AND IDEAS THAT MEAN SOMETHING
Somewhere along my journey, I realized my favorite part of doing the work was figuring out why something should exist, what it should say, and how every creative decision can make the larger idea stronger. I’m fascinated by the big idea and the smallest detail alike, like the significance of a particular word, the feeling of a moment, the implication of a choice, why it works, and what a creative choice ultimately asks an audience to feel, think, or do. The work keeps changing shape, but the thing that makes my heart beat a little faster stays the same—finding the bigger meaning, obsessing over the details, and helping others understand why something matters.
CREATIVE AF
The byline may be where J’na started, but it’s hardly where the story ends. Her work has expanded into strategy, creative development, cultural programming, and product thinking, with a particular interest in what happens when cultural insight meets a really good idea.
At Meta from 2021-2022, J’na helped shape Lift Black Voices, an editorial content rail celebrating Black culture and perspectives that became the platform’s most-engaged hub, drawing 1M+ unique visitors. Through this experience, she became especially interested in the space where strategy becomes creative direction—finding the insight, developing the idea, shaping the world around it, and obsessing over the details that make it work.
As a result, she further developed her creative practice through ONE Club for Creativity’s ONE Creator Lab and Droga5’s D5in10 in 2025; two competitive creative programs led by renowned advertising creatives. Working alongside strategists, writers, designers, and art directors, she developed concepts across brand strategy, cultural insight, copy, art direction, and design, taking ideas from an initial observation through fully realized creative territory.
She’s now back at Meta helping to develop content and creative strategy for Instagram on television, imagining experiences around cultural moments, turning UX observations into actionable insights for content and product teams, and exploring the future of Instagram on television.
Along the way, she’s worked across editorial, social, brand, and creative spaces, always looking for the cultural insight or unexpected angle that can turn an idea into something people actually want to engage with. Across it all, the throughline is the same: research deeply, understand the audience, find the idea, sweat the details, and make it matter.
